Heel pain with your first step out of bed in the morning?

Plantar fasciitis usually presents itself with a stabbing pain first thing in the morning with the first few steps.  Patients commonly think that they have broken their heel bone due to the severity of their pain.

Plantar Fasciitis occurs in 10% of the population.

Involves inflammation of a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia).  Ignoring plantar fasciitis can cause chronic (long-term) heel pain and can cause your body to compensate later causing knee, hip and back pain.
